Question 1

Is this the same as the original 2000 release?

Accepted Answer

It's the GOTY Edition — the base game plus the bonus content added shortly after launch, packaged by GOG with widescreen and Windows compatibility fixes the original disc never had.

Question 2

Does it have multiplayer?

Accepted Answer

No — this is a singleplayer-only campaign. Deus Ex's small multiplayer mode from 2000 is not part of this release.

Question 3

Is it playable on modern Windows without tweaking?

Accepted Answer

Yes. GOG's build is pre-patched for modern systems; no compatibility mode or community patch is required to run it.

Question 4

Do I need to play the sequels?

Accepted Answer

No — this is the original standalone story and the right place to start; Invisible War and Human Revolution are separate games, not required reading.
