Three landmark adventures, one DRM-free vault key.

That One Thing
A room-sized puzzle you solve with observation, timing, and Lara’s wonderfully exact grid-era movement.
The original Tomb Raider trilogy still feels like an expedition rather than a guided tour. These games ask you to read a room, judge a jump, listen for danger, and commit. Lara moves with deliberate weight, every ledge has consequence, and the best chambers unfold like clockwork puzzles built at impossible scale. This GOG bundle keeps the three Core Design adventures together and, importantly, gives you offline installers you can archive. GOG Galaxy is optional.
Tomb Raider begins the story with a globe-spanning hunt for the Scion. Its lonely ruins, strange wildlife, and measured platforming established a language that action-adventure games still borrow. Tomb Raider II widens the route from Venice to the wreck of the Maria Doria and adds vehicles, larger encounters, and a more action-heavy rhythm. Tomb Raider III turns the trilogy into a rough-edged world tour, with selectable destinations, denser traps, and some of the series’ most ambitious spaces.
These are the 1990s originals, not the remastered collection. That distinction is the appeal and the warning. Tank controls demand patience, saves and configuration feel old-school, and the geometry is blocky enough to make every jump readable. Once the movement clicks, Lara is unusually precise: you line up, measure, jump, grab, and know exactly why you made it—or did not. Modern games rarely trust the player this much.
The bundle is also the right master copy for OpenLara, the community engine that makes the classics friendlier on current hardware and opens the door to modern rendering, controller improvements, VR experiments, split-screen, and browser play. PlayBound keeps those community builds as editions so you can choose preservation or convenience without pretending the original data files are free. That clean parent-and-edition relationship matters: you buy the game once, then pick the engine that fits your machine and your appetite for tinkering.
There is one compatibility wrinkle worth saying plainly: GOG notes that Tomb Raider II is not supported on Windows 10. The offline installers remain the cleanest legal foundation, but some PCs may need compatibility settings or the OpenLara edition. The originals also remain unapologetically old-fashioned. Combat can be stiff, camera angles can fight you, and later levels sometimes confuse difficulty with obscurity. None of that erases the pleasure of entering a silent chamber, spotting the route, and executing it one careful move at a time.
If you want the original trilogy as it was—quiet, demanding, and wonderfully strange—this is an easy vault key to recommend. You get three complete adventures, ownership without launcher lock-in, and a catalog of community options waiting underneath.
