TripleA is the definitive free, open-source turn-based grand strategy wargame engine. Originally created to simulate the deep tactical mechanics of classic tabletop board games like Axis & Allies, TripleA has grown into a versatile, community-driven simulation platform featuring hundreds of historical, geopolitical, and fantasy conflict scenarios.

Gameplay unfolds across massive theater maps where players command global factions—such as the Allied and Axis powers in World War II. Each turn demands comprehensive strategic management: allocating Industrial Production Certificates (IPCs) to purchase specialized military assets (infantry, artillery, tanks, tactical bombers, battleships, submarines, and aircraft carriers), mobilizing industrial centers, and orchestrating multi-front amphibious and airborne invasions.

Combat uses a combined-arms dice simulation engine where unit stats, defending terrain, anti-aircraft flak, shore bombardments, and tactical synergy determine battle outcomes. Artillery boosts infantry attack power, fighter squadrons provide carrier defense, and destroyer flotillas detect submerged enemy submarines, rewarding historical army compositions over brute numerical force.

At the core of TripleA's enduring appeal is its built-in in-game map downloader, granting instant one-click access to over 400 community-crafted scenarios.
