No. Baseball Stars (`baseball-stars`) is the earlier game. This page is only Baseball Stars 2.

Question 3

How does online multiplayer work?

Accepted Answer

PlayBound Connect plus RetroArch netplay (FBNeo) syncs two players. See /guides/retroarch-netplay.

Question 4

Do I need a controller?

Accepted Answer

A gamepad is strongly recommended; the Neo Geo original expects pads. Keyboard works in a pinch.

Question 5

What is bstars2.zip?

Accepted Answer

The FBNeo ROM set name used for Connect launches. Your legal GOG purchase supplies the data.

Question 6

Does Baseball Stars 2 have multiplayer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Baseball Stars 2 supports up to 2 players. You can host a game on your own PC. PlayBound Connect handles the setup: start a party with your friends, pick how you want to play, and everyone launches into the same game from the PlayBound launcher. There is no subscription and no paid multiplayer tier.
