Parkour movement, arena combat, and mutators with the safety off.
That One Thing
Every wall and ledge is part of your movement kit.
Red Eclipse earns a PlayBound testing slot with joyful movement, flexible rules, and zero grind between you and the match.
Worth the cost
Free, or regularly available for $15 or less. Good developers deserve to be paid, and optional cosmetics, expansions, and premium extras are welcome. But we won't list games that sell competitive advantages, disguise a trial as free, or charge again to finish the core experience.
Ready to play
Playable and satisfying today. It can be unfinished; it cannot be unfun. We love supporting indie developers, but prototypes, broken releases, and promises of a future game do not make the cut.
Tested by PlayBound
We install it, launch it, and play it ourselves. We've spent hours building definitive editions and making multiplayer work, because a store-page claim is not the same as a game we can confidently put in front of you.
That One Thing
Every game needs that one thing we'd excitedly tell our friends about. It might be the mechanics, story, art, soundtrack, controls, community, or the way it brings people together. If it doesn't have one, it doesn't make the catalog.

Red Eclipse is what happens when an arena shooter decides the map should be a playground. You can vault, wall-run, kick and chain movement through spaces that would be simple corridors in another FPS. That mobility gives every duel a second layer: aim matters, but so does choosing a line your opponent cannot comfortably follow.
The rules are just as flexible. Mutators can reshape a familiar mode into something faster, stranger or more tactical, while community maps and an included editor keep the pool from feeling fixed. It works especially well with a group that enjoys changing the recipe between rounds instead of committing to one competitive queue all evening.
The presentation is independent rather than lavish, and the public population will not match a major shooter. Those are fair tradeoffs for a game that is free, open-source and ready to hand players real control. Start with standard deathmatch or capture modes, learn the movement in a low-pressure room, then add mutators once everyone has their footing. Red Eclipse is at its best when the match becomes a shared experiment: recognizable arena fundamentals, then one clever rule change that makes the whole room laugh.
We picked Red Eclipse because it treats movement as play instead of transportation. It is open, moddable, quick to install, and unusually generous with modes and mutators for a compact multiplayer shooter.
