A gentle social journey where flight, gestures, and shared light let strangers cooperate without needing a common language.
That One Thing
A stranger can become a companion with one candle.
Sky: Children of the Light clears the PlayBound Bar with a specific hook, honest trade-offs, and a version worth putting in front of players.
Worth the cost
Free, or regularly available for $15 or less. Good developers deserve to be paid, and optional cosmetics, expansions, and premium extras are welcome. But we won't list games that sell competitive advantages, disguise a trial as free, or charge again to finish the core experience.
Ready to play
Playable and satisfying today. It can be unfinished; it cannot be unfun. We love supporting indie developers, but prototypes, broken releases, and promises of a future game do not make the cut.
Tested by PlayBound
We install it, launch it, and play it ourselves. We've spent hours building definitive editions and making multiplayer work, because a store-page claim is not the same as a game we can confidently put in front of you.
That One Thing
Every game needs that one thing we'd excitedly tell our friends about. It might be the mechanics, story, art, soundtrack, controls, community, or the way it brings people together. If it doesn't have one, it doesn't make the catalog.

Sky: Children of the Light is thatgamecompany's social exploration game about flying through a fallen kingdom, gathering light and helping spirits recover memories. It carries Journey's wordless generosity into a persistent world where strangers can guide, recharge and celebrate together before they ever exchange names.
Flight is both movement and mood. Cape energy turns open space into a route-planning problem, wind and clouds reshape momentum, and pairs of players can reach places more comfortably by sharing light. Emotes gradually build a nonverbal vocabulary that makes cooperation possible across languages.
The realms mix quiet traversal, small environmental puzzles, seasonal stories and recurring social spaces. Cosmetics and events provide the long-term service layer, but the strongest early experience remains simple: discover a route with someone, lose them in a storm, and recognize their call later.
Sky is free-to-play and always online. On PC, the official native build is available through Steam; there is no standalone Windows installer, so Steam is genuinely necessary here. Mobile and console versions are alternatives, not drop-in PC packages. Modified clients risk accounts and are not supported.
PlayBound's read: Sky understands that multiplayer can be gentle. Its best encounters ask almost nothing from a stranger and still leave the feeling that the two of you went somewhere together.
We picked Sky: Children of the Light because its candle-and-emote language turns anonymous online cooperation into something warm, legible and unusually low-pressure.
