Eight-player couch chaos built from short fuses, springy physics, and the certainty that everyone will fall off the map.
That One Thing
Every punch can become a physics story.
It's a new-age version of Bomberman, and it's incredibly rewarding to hit your friends with bombs in multiplayer
Worth the cost
Free, or regularly available for $15 or less. Good developers deserve to be paid, and optional cosmetics, expansions, and premium extras are welcome. But we won't list games that sell competitive advantages, disguise a trial as free, or charge again to finish the core experience.
Ready to play
Playable and satisfying today. It can be unfinished; it cannot be unfun. We love supporting indie developers, but prototypes, broken releases, and promises of a future game do not make the cut.
Tested by PlayBound
We install it, launch it, and play it ourselves. We've spent hours building definitive editions and making multiplayer work, because a store-page claim is not the same as a game we can confidently put in front of you.
That One Thing
Every game needs that one thing we'd excitedly tell our friends about. It might be the mechanics, story, art, soundtrack, controls, community, or the way it brings people together. If it doesn't have one, it doesn't make the catalog.

BombSquad is Eric Froemling's local-and-online party game about tiny fighters, oversized explosives and physics that are just predictable enough to reward skill before everything goes wrong. Matches range from hockey and capture-the-flag to survival rounds where the arena itself is the main threat.
Movement has weight. Characters stumble, grab, punch, throw and recover with a loose physicality that makes a clean dodge satisfying and a failed rescue hilarious. Phones can act as controllers, which lowers the hardware barrier for a crowded room, while gamepads remain the best fit for players who want precise movement.
The official Ballistica project publishes current builds and a server package for several platforms. BombSquad's Python layer also supports a serious community plug-in scene; the maintained community Plugin Manager filters content by API version and exposes source before installation.
Official app-store releases are generally more stable than test builds. Windows packages on the Ballistica download page can be alpha releases, so Draft status should remain until PlayBound completes a fresh install test. Community server scripts and client plug-ins need separate compatibility checks.
PlayBound's read: few party games turn failure into a better punchline. BombSquad earns its place when a room has more people than controllers and nobody minds losing to a crate that bounced the wrong way.
We picked BombSquad because its physical comedy, phone-controller support and moddable Python layer give one small party game remarkable range.
