A patient online fishing sim where tackle, weather, water, and species behavior matter more than reflex theatrics.
That One Thing
The bite starts long before the float moves.
Fishing Planet clears the PlayBound Bar with a specific hook, honest trade-offs, and a version worth putting in front of players.
Worth the cost
Free, or regularly available for $15 or less. Good developers deserve to be paid, and optional cosmetics, expansions, and premium extras are welcome. But we won't list games that sell competitive advantages, disguise a trial as free, or charge again to finish the core experience.
Ready to play
Playable and satisfying today. It can be unfinished; it cannot be unfun. We love supporting indie developers, but prototypes, broken releases, and promises of a future game do not make the cut.
Tested by PlayBound
We install it, launch it, and play it ourselves. We've spent hours building definitive editions and making multiplayer work, because a store-page claim is not the same as a game we can confidently put in front of you.
That One Thing
Every game needs that one thing we'd excitedly tell our friends about. It might be the mechanics, story, art, soundtrack, controls, community, or the way it brings people together. If it doesn't have one, it doesn't make the catalog.

Fishing Planet is a free first-person online fishing simulator built around detailed tackle behavior, real-world-inspired waterways and fish that respond to time, weather, depth and presentation. It is a hobby game first: preparation and observation matter as much as the moment a fish takes the lure.
Float, spinning and bottom-fishing setups behave differently, and thousands of rod, reel, line, hook and lure combinations create meaningful trade-offs. Travel, licenses and equipment form the progression economy, while competitions and leaderboards give experienced anglers reasons to refine a technique instead of simply chasing larger numbers.
The strongest moments are quiet. Read the forecast, choose a promising depth, adjust retrieval speed and learn why one species feeds differently after a weather shift. Kayaks and boats open new water without turning the game into an arcade tour.
Fishing Planet is always-online and free-to-play, with DLC and account progress locked to the platform profile that created it. Cross-play is limited to specific platform pairs; Steam and Epic can play together, but progress cannot be transferred. PlayBound will prefer the official Epic route to avoid requiring Steam.
PlayBound's read: this is for players who want the technical patience of fishing, not a quick minigame. The economy can feel grindy, but the water and tackle systems reward genuine learning.
We picked Fishing Planet because its interlocking weather, species and tackle models make a successful catch feel prepared rather than randomly awarded.
