GZDoom pirate total conversion: 18 maps, reskinned monsters, cutlasses and flintlocks. Runs on Freedoom or Doom II.
Pirate Doom! is Arch's GZDoom total conversion that rebuilds Doom II as a Caribbean raid. Every stock monster gets a pirate pass — peg-leg Cyberdemon, hat-flipping imps, braided pain elementals — and the arsenal swaps to a cutlass, flintlock, cannons, and a dynamite thrower in place of the BFG. There is no chainsaw. Freelook is the intended way to play.
The campaign is 18 action maps plus a credits/epilogue map, moving through ships, islands, caves, temples, and a circus, with Caribbean music and full cooperative and deathmatch support. The conversion can also ride other mapsets because the monster and weapon replacements are not locked to the bundled levels.
Version 1.8 is the last upstream package. Sounds mute on many GZDoom 1.9+ builds; the community 1.8b fix on ModDB is the one to grab for current GZDoom. PlayBound's Freedoom + GZDoom edition is a valid IWAD host. This is a ModDB download, not a one-click PlayBound zip.
