A 3v3 footbrawler where you knock rivals off the arena and score goals — air hockey with anime fighters.
That One Thing
Knock someone off the arena and your goal looks inevitable — until their goalie is also a character who can knock you off.
Omega Strikers, from Odyssey Interactive, is a free-to-play 3v3 team game that Steam describes as a footbrawler. You pick a Striker, step into a small arena, and try to knock opponents off it while scoring goals. It is a fast, short-match team game, closer to air hockey with fighters than to a traditional shooter or MOBA, and it was released on Steam in September 2022 with a Very Positive reception from tens of thousands of players.
The core of the game is team positioning. Three players fight for control of the field, so someone has to defend and someone has to attack, and the game rewards a team that keeps trading roles intelligently. Strikers are the characters you play as; the page lists more than fifteen, each unlocked through normal play, with different abilities and playstyles. The cartoon presentation is bright and anime-inspired, which fits the speed of the matches.
Modes cover most needs. Steam lists 3v3 ranked, normals, Quick Play and custom lobbies, plus online co-op and online PvP. Cross-platform parties and cross-progression mean friends on PC and mobile can play together, and your account follows you between them. The free price comes with optional cosmetics and battle passes, which the store page discloses; the Strikers themselves are earned by playing.
PC requirements are modest. Steam lists 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, an Intel Core i5-4430 or AMD FX-6300, 8 GB of RAM, a GTX 960 2 GB or Radeon R7 370 2 GB, broadband and 4 GB of storage. No further recommended figures are published beyond a 64-bit CPU and OS. The page does not mention controller support, so we have not tagged it; check the in-game settings.
For PlayBound, it is a clean fit: free to start, tuned for groups of three, with cross-play that avoids stranding a friend on the wrong platform. It is a live-service game that runs on the developer's servers rather than ours, so we cannot guarantee how long it stays active; we point it out, and we point out the optional purchases too.
Some context for choosing it: Steam lists Very Positive reviews at 85 percent across more than 14,600 English reviews, with recent reviews at 83 percent on a much smaller sample, and tags such as MOBA, 3D Fighter, Anime, Character Customization, eSports and Team-Based. It supports twelve languages including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Chinese. The page says more maps and modes are planned, and that cross-progression is rolling out across PC and mobile. Because it is a live-service title on the developer's servers, play it for what it is today, and check recent reviews and the Steam news feed for the current state of the player base before you rally a squad.
We picked Omega Strikers because it shows free multiplayer can be generous and competitive at the same time: every Striker is earned by playing, cosmetics are optional, and cross-platform parties mean your friend on a phone is not left out. It is a live-service game on someone else's servers, and we say so plainly — but for a group that wants a short, readable team match tonight, it is more than a free-to-play curiosity.
