Dig, build, battle, and improvise when the physics refuse your plan.
That One Thing
The best solution is usually the one your crew invents mid-disaster.
OpenClonk earns a PlayBound testing slot by turning construction, combat, and slapstick physics into one memorable multiplayer sandbox.
Worth the cost
Free, or regularly available for $15 or less. Good developers deserve to be paid, and optional cosmetics, expansions, and premium extras are welcome. But we won't list games that sell competitive advantages, disguise a trial as free, or charge again to finish the core experience.
Ready to play
Playable and satisfying today. It can be unfinished; it cannot be unfun. We love supporting indie developers, but prototypes, broken releases, and promises of a future game do not make the cut.
Tested by PlayBound
We install it, launch it, and play it ourselves. We've spent hours building definitive editions and making multiplayer work, because a store-page claim is not the same as a game we can confidently put in front of you.
That One Thing
Every game needs that one thing we'd excitedly tell our friends about. It might be the mechanics, story, art, soundtrack, controls, community, or the way it brings people together. If it doesn't have one, it doesn't make the catalog.

OpenClonk is a multiplayer sandbox that refuses to separate building from action. Your crew can dig through terrain, harvest materials, assemble structures and vehicles, then use the same tools in exploration, settlement or combat scenarios. The result feels less like following a prescribed strategy and more like solving a physical problem together.
That freedom is the attraction. A careful bridge can become an escape route, a poorly placed explosive can redraw the map, and a machine built for one job often creates three unexpected ones. Cooperative scenarios reward communication without demanding perfect execution, while competitive rounds turn every construction project into a potential ambush.
The game shows its age in menus, onboarding and presentation. New players should expect a learning session before the controls and object interactions feel natural, and public matchmaking is not the reason to install it. Bring friends, choose a straightforward scenario, and treat the first round as an experiment. Once the group understands how digging, carrying and construction fit together, OpenClonk reveals a rare kind of multiplayer depth: systems broad enough to support a sensible plan, and physics mischievous enough to make that plan memorable. It is free, open-source and wonderfully willing to let players create their own stories.
We picked OpenClonk because few multiplayer games let a group solve problems this physically. A bridge, tunnel or improvised machine can be a plan, a weapon, or the start of a much better disaster.
