S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly is a free community standalone that rebuilds the Zone into an open-ended survival sandbox. Major regions from the original trilogy, story routes, faction starts, dynamic economy, and deep difficulty options sit in one install. It does not require Call of Pripyat, Clear Sky, or Shadow of Chornobyl from GOG — download Anomaly from ModDB into its own folder and play.

Default PlayBound Install is clean Anomaly (currently 1.5.x). Reach the main menu once and confirm a new save before adding packs. The optional G.A.M.M.A. edition is Grok's curated hardcore survival overhaul — hundreds of mods installed through the official G.A.M.M.A. launcher after Anomaly works. GAMMA needs far more disk space and time; it is not a Call of Pripyat edition and must not overwrite a GOG trilogy folder.

Expect a modernized but still demanding Zone: inventory weight, ballistics, mutants, and emissions that punish rushing. Menus and systems are denser than the 2007–2010 games. Start with default Anomaly if you want the sandbox without a multi-hour modpack install; choose GAMMA when you want the hardcore curated stack and are ready to follow the GitHub wiki carefully.
