About Soccer Brawl

Soccer Brawl is SNK's 1992 Neo Geo five-a-side that never pretended football was polite. Smaller pitch, fewer players, and contact that would get a modern sim sued. You charge, shove, and somehow still have to finish with a shot that fits through a tiny window of goal mouth. Matches are short arguments with a scoreboard.

The joy is the collision of sports timing and arcade spite. Positioning still matters — leave a lane open and the other side walks it in — but the punchline is often a late shoulder that steals possession at the worst possible moment. Two pads on a couch make every bounce contested. It is the meaner cousin of Super Sidekicks: less pageantry, more bruises.

On PlayBound the path is the GOG DRM-free Windows master. Install deep-links into Galaxy for an owned product so the download is one click after purchase. Detection looks under GOG Galaxy Games and for `socbrawl.zip` so Connect can hand the match to RetroArch/FBNeo instead of hoping the Windows port speaks netplay. Controllers are expected; the arcade cabinet never shipped a mouse.
